I get a lot of messages from folks after conventions that they were too shy to come talk to me - and it’s heartbreaking! If I’ve traveled all the way across the country (or another), there’s a big chance I won’t be back soon. I know I can be sassy and a little brash online, but I really do LOVE meeting fans. You’re the reason I get brought to these shows, yo!
It’s a scary thing, but don’t let it keep you from having a nice moment. It won’t always be perfect and not every creator (or every fan) will be awesome, but it’s worth the risk.

SO ACCURATE! In my three years of doing cons, I can count on one hand the people who have actually been creepy at my booth- and even then they were usually rude, abusive, or literally handsy.
I come away from conventions aglow with even the most awkward interactions that I’ve had with fans! You could be shy, I could misspeak, we could talk over each other or drop something, and I still cherish getting to meet all y’all face to face. :)

I haven’t meet the creepy people yet ahaha. But i’m also new to this convention thing and having a blast. I’ll make a big post about Wondercon soon!

A WIP almost done for a character design for a concept i’m working on called “Solance Redemption”- it’s a western supernatural futuristic thriller.
I haven’t decided a name yet for her, but leaning more towards Serafina or Seraphine. She’s a gypsy-esk, intense, shoot first ask questions later type and leader of a rebel group standing up to the baddies who took over the town known as Solance.
And that’s all I’m saying so far. I might tone-down the gypsy part of the outfit because it feels done before and maybe add some other cultures to her as well cause she looks too Esmeralda, maybe it’s the hair….
